A series of storms rolling through the East Coast is causing delays and cancellations across the Baltimore-Washing corridor and beyond to New York. To add insult to injury, a strong jet stream is providing moderate turbulence to those planes that do get through.

I was in on a Canadair Northwest Airlink Flight from Memphis to Raleigh last night and the turbulence was horrible. 125 knot winds clapped with 100 knot winds and our plane was in the middle. Drinks were spilled and people were hollerin’ as the plane tossed back and forth. If it wasn’t for the flight attendant, I would have lost it. Renee was the best. I really thought we were going down! Tomorrow I have to fly out of Raleigh to Cincinnati on a similar plane. Needless to say, this has given me the cocncern to research turbulence and this website.
