I just found this website over 5 months ago. I am flying out of Boston on Thanksgiving morning in the middle of a rain/wind storm. This site is fantastic, however it really sinks in how turbluent my flight is going to be aftering looking at all these maps. I can't cancel the trip, so it looks like I'm going to be saying a prayer and hanging on to my seat. If anyone has been traveling today (Wednesday, November 22) in the Northeast and can give some feedback about the turbulence they experienced, I would appreciate it.
Best,
Phil

I just discovered your website last night while trying to decide whether to fly from Baltimore to Charlotte today. Knowing a severe line of storms was going to pass through the southeast (including tornados), I searched for a website with information on turbulence. Having this information at hand made it very easy to justify not getting on that plane this morning. I am not a nervous flyer and am married to a former 727 pilot, but every once in a while I get the feeling that the destination might not be worth the agony of the voyage. Glad I found you!

Yah, I totally know that left/right brain thing he is talking about...

No matter what anyone can tell me, I always get white knuckled during turbulence. I know I would be perfectly OK if I was in the cockpit, but it is the sitting the back that gets me. Same thing that I do when I hit the 'imaginary' break pedal in the car when I am not driving.

Maybe this is a sign I need to go get private license and then I can fly the really dangerous planes!
