Heavy Snow, choppy rides

A very strong cold front is coming in, and is expected to dump a lot of snow in the Midwest.? With MSP, ORD, DTW to be airports that could be effected, look for system wide flight delays across the board.? And with this, moderate turbulence for a large portion of the US due to the jet stream and fronts.

Is jetstream related turbulence always this bad this time of year? I remember looking at the maps last Christmas and it didn’t seem this bad (of course I was flying to Japan, so Eastern US really wasn’t on my radar).

I noticed a similar pattern last year. If I can find the map, I’ll post it.
