This is like a word problem of yore: A fifty-seater ERJ, on a two-hour run, or a 78-seater Dash 8-400 turboprop on an hour and fifteen min flight?

I heard that props are better now. true? Also, a night flight (around) 10 pm in summer, in the Northeast as smooth as a morning flight, all else (storms, etc.) being equal?

If I take the prop--the other leg of my flight is in a wide body:):)767!

Props are much better now. This isn't some tiny Saab 12 seater. The Dash 8-400 is larger and heavier than the ERJ, so take the Dash.

ERJ-20k lbs
Dash-25k lbs

That's an extra 5,000 lbs!

Morning flights can be a little better, but your night flight should be fine.

Problem with props is that they can't fly as high to get over the storms! So factor that in too.

True, but a Q-4000 can get up to 25,000. Most of the time they fly around storms, it's hard to go above them if they are powerful.
