Lynda, as you know, this kind of forecast is difficult, but it does look there is a very strong jetstream/headwind, and a severe advisory (up to FL350) for parts of the flight path, so hopefully you can fly above that. I think you'll have some bumps as you descend into the UK. From looking around on google, this kind of turbulence near the UK is pretty much par for the course this time of year. I hope you have a pleasant flight, and thank you for being a supporter of this site.

Hi there!
Yesterdays flight was just as you expected with the exception of the landing in UK.
6 hours of the flight was really quite bumpy. I think this was perhaps one of the longest periods of turbulence I have encountered.
We sort of wondered if we perhaps felt it more as on the way home we were on the New Virgin suite flat beds, ( Does Turbulence feel worse when you are lying down?)
The last 60-90 minutes were relatively smooth.
Most people did not manage to sleep on this flight due to the turbulence, It was difficult to say if this turbulence was moderate or light with moderate times, most of the time it was difficult to walk ( you had to use a bathroom within the 6 hours) at times water splashed out of your glass.
It was certainly not comfortable.
I was not afraid at anytime but I did get some nausea!
I appreciate the time you put in to getting these forecasts to us

I'd imagine that laying down would make you more sensitive to it (lucky though that you get to travel in that class though).
I think Virgin flies 747s between the two airports, so that's a fairly big plane which smoothed things out a bit, also, I'd imagine that you were in first or what not, so the turbulence is not so bad up front. It's worse the further back you are (the tail whips around).
Thank you for reporting, it'll help make Europe forecasts better.
