How do these flights look? I'm worried about the storms that have been pretty much ongoing in TX for the past few days as well as storms that are forecast to be along the IAH-EWR route.
AUS-IAH COA 240
5:40AM - 6:32AM
737-800
IAH-EWR COA 52
8:00AM - 12:34PM
767-200
If there are storms along these routes, what are the chances that the planes will be above any associated clouds? Any words of wisdom would be great!

It's usually impossible to go above since the storms are so high. Planes fly around storms, always, and they never enter them. It is possible graze past some unanticipated winds or what not, so it is possible to hit some bumps...However, the weather shows no rain for 5/5, so the storms will be out of the area by then, and my predictions are showing a smooth flight otherwise. (that is, if the weather forecasts can be believed).
So I wouldn't worry.

Thanks for the quick response! Makes me feel better for that AUS-IAH leg... You think things will be just as good for the IAH-EWR leg? I have the widebody plane working for me on that leg at least. :)

I think it will be fine, but nearer to EWR, might be a few bumps.

Flights turned out to be pretty good for the most part. A few bumps from AUS-IAH as we climbed and descended through clouds, but otherwise fine. IAH-EWR was a little choppy for the first 20-30 minutes, then fairly smooth the rest of the way, except for about 10 minutes about 2 hours into the flight. The approach into EWR was also quite bumpy with a lot of drops... felt like we were getting pushed around a lot. Overall, not bad... Your prediction was pretty much on the money, so thanks. :)
