Calgary - Hamilton leg departs at 7AM and the Hamilton - Orlando departs at 536PM.

Hope its smooth! Of course there have been quite a few storms the last week over the plains.

At least WestJet has TVs in the seats!

A tougher prediction than usual, I'm going to have to say mostly smooth. Weather is a concern towards MCO, so there might be a few bumps there due to storms and perhaps the jet stream. Overall though, I think it'll be ok.

Please reply to this post a day before your flight for a revised forecast based on the latest data.

Great now there is a tropical storm off the coast of Florida!!

Any thoughts? Think they will cancel flights?

I don't think they'll cancel flights (maybe some slight delays possible). I do think though it might be a little bit bumpy closer to MCO. I think there's a very good chance of up to light, and an average chance of moderate. However, the tropical storm is fairly weak, it's just really a giant field of rain showers and some light winds. I would not worry too much about it.

You'll start running into bumps a bit north of MCO (probably into Georgia) at altitude and they'll continue until you are on the ground most likely.

However, don't worry too much. I don't think it will be anything you can't handle.

I remember when planes were running out of New Orleans (MSY), there were a bunch of reports of moderate (I think it was Katrina). I didn't see anything higher than moderate for Katrina that I remember, keeping in mind that they wouldn't fly through an actual hurricane.

I look forward to hearing your report. Safe flight, and enjoy Orlando (hopefully the rain goes away in time for you to enjoy it).

YYC - YHM was pretty smooth with some light-moderate turbulence over Minnesota and Wisconsin. Seatbelt sign was only on for about 20 minutes of the flight.

Now I have to wait for 6 hours in the most boring airport in the universe. Hamilton...

YHM - MCO was smooth the entire way. Not a bump except for the last 20 meters to the ground where there was some cross wind. I could feel the plane crab and de-crab as it touched down.

I suppose there was the pretty girl next to me who I was talking to, so maybe she distracted me from most of the turbulence.

Perhaps that is what the airlines should provide for anxious flyers, chatty attractive people in the seats next to them.

One of the better parts of your six hour layover, it gave the weather some time to move. Glad it was ok.
