Will the storms still be brewing in TX, AR, MS, GA, FL?

Thanks from a long time lurker but brand new member. :)

Welcome aboard.

I think there will be a lot of storms in the area, but keep in mind that storms are a lot easier to dodge most of the time than say, a strong jet stream. Storm related turbulence can be bad, but if you look at the pilot reports of turbulence in stormy areas, yes, you'll see some reports of moderate/severe, but most of the time you won't see much turbulence, because they fly around the storms so well.

I don't see any turbulence causes in the atmosphere outside of storms. I am curious though. It's quite hot in Phoenix, (but it looks like an early flight), so I'm curious as to how the bumps are on takeoff in such heat. I hear it can be quite bumpy on landing/takeoff in hot cities like PHX and LAS, so I'd like to hear how it goes.

I'm not on this particular flight, but I'll throw my two cents in since I lived in PHX for 6 years. I always found that the take-offs in the heat were much smoother than the landings. I guess maybe during take-off, the plane is going up anyway so the termals might not bother the flight much... although during the landings, the plane is descending and the thermals are fighting it...

The descents could be quite rough during the dead of summer, although I found that the bumps never really hit until the plane was quite low... maybe 5 minutes or less before landing. Not pleasant, especially for a nervous flier, but not so bad and long-lasting that they weren't bearable... Hope this helps...
