I am set to fly from yeg to las at 7 pm tonite. The weather in edmonton is cloudy, cold and raining. Does that make for a bumpy flight. a day or so ago you said it looked pretty smooth does that predication still stand? Thanks

The weather on the ground only matters for the first few minutes of flight during takeoff, and a bit longer during descent.

The winds are fairly low, and a few clouds and rain may mean a few gentle jolts, but it's the weather above the clouds that matters most, and you'll be surprised as to how quickly you'll be above it.

Forecast still stands, don't worry, and if there are any jolts, they'll soon be over.

Look at the cloud levels for YEG:

Scattered Clouds 1200 ft / 365 m
Mostly Cloudy 2800 ft / 853 m
Overcast 4500 ft / 1371 m

You'll climb through those in no time, and it'll be clear above.
