Outside of any storm related turbulence, should be smooth. Overall looks smooth, but turbulence is always possible near stormy areas.

Thanks, I was too nervous to get on that plane; ended up driving from NO to Chicago since they kept predicting a storm. We saw about 10 minutes of rain on the way up. The storm never hit so I guessed wrong, should have listened to you and gotten on the plane. I'm making a donation today.:)

Weather on the ground usually has little to no effect on the flight, it's the jet stream and the upper atmosphere that matters most.
