For those that have anxiety when flying in rough weather, fly United. Channel 9 in my experience eased the anxiety. You can listen to ATC the entire flight in the comfort of your own seat.

Example: I was on a A320 (LAX-ORD). We were experiencing continous light chop at 36,000, the pilot asked ATC (Denver Center) how the rides were at 38,000 feet and 34,000 feet. ATC then asked another aircraft that was a few miles ahead of us at 38,000 feet which they reported smooth. We then went up to 38,000 and it smoothed out. So I like flying United, because you always know what is going on and its pretty cool to listen, makes the flight go by quicker.

Lately though, it seems that United pilots have not had Channel 9 on as much as they did in the past.

But United does have some poorly located hubs. ORD and DEN can get pretty bumpy at times on landings and take-offs. (Windy City and Rocky Mountains).
