    Default Los Angeles to Phoenix

I have a rough time with turbulence and travel from LA to Phoenix about 4 times a month. It is never easy but I have started to learn that these really hot months usually result in LOTS of turbulence. Is there a time of day that is best to fly and when there is less turbulence? It would be great to plan around the turbulence. Thanks.

Are you referring to turbulence during landing/takeoff, or in flight?

    howdy!

well, the turbulence you're speaking of is most likely related to the desert heat. think of the desert heat as a giant, dense blanket of air - sorta like how turbulence is always present when flying through clouds, only you can't see it and the variation in density is much more dynamic.

LAX to PHX probably doesn't help either, when looking at the main jet stream that sweeps north america.
