    Hi tb_neg,

I realize you may not be able to get to this thread in time but if you do have a few moments, would very much welcome your thoughts on how you think my flight will go. Looks like the weather will be decent at LAX and PHL, hopefully the weather in the middle of the country (assume we would fly over it anyway) and the jetstream won't cause too many issues.

    Thanks!

P.S. Been a while since I've logged into the site, just learned about the donations. Will definitely contribute!

My last flight was an eye opener. Either people have been polite in saying 'oh, you were right', or maybe I've just been lucky, or the most likely possibility is my accuracy isn't that great.

I found that a lot of my assumptions on forecasting were just plain wrong, which is kind of disenchanting. I had my accuracy shaken.

That being said, I think you will probably hit some light to moderate turbulence at times during your flight, but I don't think it will be sustained. The west was troublesome today though. I hope that clears up a bit.

Being in the medical field, you learn about self diagnosis which isn't always accurate. You generally only see what you want to see and ignore other key factors. I think this may have been your issue when predicting your own forecast. The storm system(s) that day were huge which I think had a big effect on your ride.

Unfortunately, the storm systems really don't show up on the turbulence maps, and I've tended to ignore them. I should probably start paying attention more to that and find a better site for tracking storm system possibilities.

    Good weather site suggestions welcome.
